Grant Specialist: Financial
Grants Financial Review Specialist
Put your financial review skills to work on a Texas grant program. Peak Performers is seeking a detail-oriented professional to review local government grant records, trace transactions, and give agency staff clear findings they can act on.
The Team You Will Be Joining
- You will support the Texas Department of Agriculture, a state agency serving Texas agriculture and rural communities.
Major Duties
- Review bank statements, invoices, canceled checks, and other grant records using a standard checklist.
- Identify missing documents, unclear transactions, and discrepancies; document questions for agency staff to review.
- Build and maintain Excel ledgers or transaction summaries to help verify records.
- Contact grant recipients and other stakeholders to obtain or clarify documentation.
- Organize review notes and supporting files, and provide timely status updates.
What are we looking for?
- Experience reading financial records and tracing transactions across statements, invoices, and payment documents.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to create accurate ledgers or transaction summaries.
- Careful attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to explain findings without making unsupported conclusions.
- Professional communication and the ability to follow a structured review process.
- Background in accounting support, financial analysis, audits, grants administration, local government finance, or document review is helpful.
