Apprenticeship Opportunity: Interior Systems Carpenter Cleveland Ohio

Commercial interior systems carpenters are specialized tradespeople who install non-structural, factory-produced systems in commercial buildings. They construct metal-stud wall partitions, acoustical ceilings, raised computer floors, and specialized cabinetry. These professionals focus on finishing spaces, interpreting blueprints to meet fire code and aesthetic requirements.


Contractors in Cleveland are in immediate need for new apprentices.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Framing and Partitions: Installing metal stud framing for walls and partitions.

Ceiling Systems: Installing suspended ceiling grids and acoustical tiles.

Drywall Installation: Installing gypsum board/drywall panels.

Finish Carpentry: Installing trim work, cabinetry, doors, and hardware.

Flooring Systems: Installing various commercial flooring products.

Layout and Measurement: Using blueprints to perform accurate layouts and verify elevations.

Safety and Compliance: Ensuring work meets building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA standards.

Site Coordination: Collaborating with other trades and adjusting schedules to avoid client disruptions.  


Requirements

Core Application Requirements

Age: Minimum 18 years old.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Identification: Valid driver’s license or state-issued photo ID.

Documentation: Birth certificate, social security card, and high school transcripts/GED scores.

Experience: None required, but welding experience is a plus.

Substance Abuse Screening: Applicants must pass a drug test.

Military: Veterans must submit a copy of their DD214.

** VETERANS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR DIRECT ENTRY AND GIVEN 6 MONTHS CREDIT TOWARDS THEIR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM!**

Post-911 G.I. Bill can be used to help offset wages while working through the Apprenticeship levels.
