Receptionist
This position is Fridays ONLY 8am-4:30pm
MISSION:
The mission of BAC is to provide persons with disabilities innovative services and opportunities to achieve personal success.
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of clerical work supporting organizational departments and operations. Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need.
- Receives the public and answer questions, responds to inquiries from employees and others, as well as refers to appropriate department/staff member as needed and schedule appointments.
- Answers phones, routes callers, and provides information as required; refers calls to appropriate department/staff members as needed
- Maintains the check log based on incoming checks to the organization
- Composes, types, and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, and other material ensuring accuracy
- Provides support for the client attendance process and produces reports as necessary for evacuation, roll calls, bus loading, etc.
- Assists with quality checks of client’s work
- Supports special projects including legislative and travel planning, coordinating, and scheduling
- Orders client lunches
- Sorts and distributes incoming mail
- Ensures that the lobby is clean and orderly at all times
- May organize or assist with special events, as needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one or more years of clerical and/or administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must satisfy Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements. May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with Individuals with disabilities
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of clerical procedures and systems such as managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing outstanding customer service
- Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and applicable department/organization specific software
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Ability to organize work for timely completion
- Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
TRAVEL:
No travel is expected for this position.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE):
Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 25 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Physical Requirements can be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks are regularly performed in an air-conditioned office without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, heat, cold, rain, fumes).
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity.

Salary: $17.00
