Job Developer

At SourceAmerica, we are committed to serving as a connector for people with disabilities and veterans. We are currently recruiting talent on behalf of one of our nonprofit agency partners who has a position for a Job Developer!
THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking a Job Developer to develop community-based work sites with the goal of preparing and securing jobs for individuals with disabilities in the competitive labor market.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
• Work locally to develop job opportunities for individuals with disabilities or other populations served; educate employers in the areas of the accommodations, and assistive technology, disability awareness, and the ADA
• Develop a job placement plan with each program participant based on referral information, strengths, needs, preferences, supports needed, health and safety considerations, and local labor market trends
• Regularly review and revise the program participant’s job placement plan
• Analyze and discuss specific discrepancies between job/skill requirements and the program participant’s abilities prior to making a decision about a job
• Assess co-worker social factors to ensure that the social climate is a good match for the program participant; identify potential problem areas and develop potential solutions before the program participant starts a job
• Assess safety conditions at potential community job sites
• Transport program participants to job interviews and work sites as needed
• Assist program participants with development of job seeking skills, job interviewing skills and transportation options
• Coordinate pre-placement services with the program participants, referral sources, families, and other stakeholders
• Coordinate with the organization regarding placement of individuals on the VRS priority placement list
• Maintain up-to-date awareness of trends in the local labor market
• Participate as assigned in activities of community professional and business organizations such as the Morris County Partnership for Employment and Transition Services, Chambers of Commerce, Rotary, and Trade/Business Shows
• Perform employment specialist duties as needed
• Maintain up to date service planning documents, service logs, forms and case notes in the case management system; assist with writing timely service reports to referral sources
• Attend and actively participate in department and staff meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• Ability to support the mission of the organization
• Associate’s degree in human services, marketing, or a related field
• Strong presentation skills to individuals and small to large groups
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
• Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to anticipate a problem and develop strategies in advance
• Excellent listening and verbal/written communication skills
• High degree of common sense and good judgment
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent frustration tolerance and adaptability
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work occasional nights and weekends, as needed
• Willingness to obtain a CPR/First Aid certification
• Reliable transportation and valid vehicle insurance
• Valid driver’s license
NICE TO HAVE:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities
• 1+ years’ experience in industry performing sales related work
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
