Benefits Administrator

The Benefits Administrator plays a key role in enhancing employees' understanding of their benefits, managing system updates and implementations, and evaluating and updating processes for best practices. This role involves collaboration with the HR Director on plan design, wellness initiatives, and developing effective communication strategies to boost cultural engagement.

Responsibilities include maintaining compliance data, tracking deadlines, preparing and analyzing benefits metrics for leadership review, and acting as a liaison for insurance coverage, including reviewing contracts and proposals for pricing and risk. The Administrator will also work closely with brokers, vendors, and underwriters, and coordinate with Contracts, Pricing, and Finance departments for comprehensive contract and proposal evaluations.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Responsible for Benefits Eligibility Processing.


Draft benefit policies, SOPs, documents, and company-wide communications for Manager review.


Handle inquiries and trouble-shooting with internal and external customers, assist to resolve any escalated issues.


Reporting and analytics


Maintain communication with vendors, carriers, and providers


Responsible for team metric production and tracking


Assist with Open Enrollment planning and execution to include system build-out


Conduct benefit audits to ensure correct coverage, employee deductions, and Mission Essential cost


Maintain program compliance for domestic, international, and foreign local plans


Assist with testing/maintenance of 401(k) plan


Track billing.


Perform claims reviews.


Assist with wellness initiatives (participation, communication, and implementation).


Assist with system implementations and updates.


Administrator of Benefits Jira queue, responding and resolving and/or assigning employees’ inquiries in a timely manner 


Assist with completion of Defense Base Act (DBA) claims and Special Immigration Visa for Afghans (SIV) information requests.


Document processes and assist with creating training materials and maintaining a continuity document for this role


Perform other duties as assigned. 



Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelor’s degree


Five to ten (5-10) years of working experience in HR/Benefits or a combination of experience and education.


Substantial experience working with UKG Pro/UltiPro, ADP, Paycom or similar HRIS (data management, reporting, open enrollment, vendor interfaces/feed files, regulatory compliance, billing and reconciliation)


Excellent with communication and customer service (written and verbal)


Knowledge of and working experience with navigating employment laws impacting HR & Benefits (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, etc.)






DESIRED EXPERIENCE:


HIPAA certification and/or CEBS certification


Strong knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.


Experience in International Benefits and Leave Management preferred.
